Pope Benedict said on Saturday he will apologize for a sexual abuse scandal that has rocked the Catholic Church in Australia, saying pedophilia was "incompatible" with being a priest.

      pedophillia "incompatible" with being a priest? given how much of a universal tradition it is i'd say it was a pre-requisite

    i didn't even know he had been to australia.

    (all kidding aside)

    at least this pope seems to be trying to start realizig the problems of the catholic church, and try to help bring it into the 19th century.

    it's time that the church tried reaching out to the congragation, instead of just going with the old party line.

    i was born and raised catholic. but have turned more agnostic(leaning towards atheism) but believe that if believing is what gives you comfort, i am happy for you.

    modernizing the church will be a long and slow process, but must be done to survive. imo

      I think that this is an important step in trying to heal some of the major wounds within the church.
