How come when some cooky person twists the message of God, everyone runs to extremes and paints Jesus as a government entity wanting your dollars through tax or tithe. When Kucinich talks about impeaching Bush, no one bats an eye and he believes in aliens and UFO's. come on now.

America seems to have more than "a few kooky people" exploiting the intellectual weaknesses and hunger for some entity other than themselves to micromanage their existence.
The possibility of life existing other than on Earth is somewhat calculable (Carl Sagan thought so). But the probability of literal God's or a single God as described in Judeo-Christian mythology is no greater than the likelihood of Thor throwing lightning or Zeus being the ultimate Universal Major Dude. As Arthur C. Clarke said, "if you stare at the night sky for an hour, you WILL see something you can't explain". (Though this is neither proof of aliens nor angels, simply stuff we don't know...maybe a stray satellite, space junk, etc.)

Idamilli, I had the pleasure of meeting him once, he was speaking at the Smithsonian and I spoke with him for an hour or so before the event. A brilliant man.
