Bible literalists often say that Jesus didn't mean something literally. Especially if it can be disproved in present real time.

Everything Jesus said is true and meant to be taken at face value. The problem with this person is that he assumes he is right in what he says and supports his theory by what seems to be a visible non-response from Jesus. Try this perspective. Anyone who cannot toss a mountain into the sea obviously has no faith, anyone who asks and doesn't receive really doesn't believe. The problem with what Jesus said isn't with Jesus, it's with us who don't know, don't want to know how to follow what Jesus said. The fact that a person says they are a believer, doesn't really make them a believer. Those who label themselves as Christian and say Jesus didn't mean what He said are deluding themselves and are not followers of Him.
