"Six times a week, Harvard kicks all the guys out of the Quadrangle Recreational Athletic Center at the request of the Harvard Islamic Society. This is to accommodate those female Muslim students whose faith won't let them work out in front of men."
Just like universities across the Muslim world accomodate Christians and Jews.

BOTTOM LINE:
Why in the hell can't people who come to OUR COUNTRY learn to ADDAPT to OUR ways? I would not go to Iran and expect them to adapt to me!
If you have to change OUR country to come here then maybe you SHOULD NOT COME HERE AT ALL!
Oh yea, please, unless your an AMERICAN your opinion on this subject means EXACTLY SQUAT!

Six hours a week there is a difference.
Three days each day 2 hours:
2 hours - Monday 3-5 PM
2 hours - Tuesday 8-10 AM
2 hours - Thursday 8-10 AM

Actually this one doesn't upset me, it is a politeness, a courtesy, nothing more. I am extended similar courtesies when I am visiting in the UAE. Most of these folks are not extremists, they just have a more conservative lifestyle than ours, not all bad in my opinion. When I went to school in the US, boys and girls had seperate PE sessions, in seperate parts of the school. And that was here in the US.

Mecca or Saudi Arabia is another thing, but look into other Islamic countries, like the UAE which is next to SA, here we have churchs, we have special schools for non-Muslims, "we have churches, we have places were non-Muslims can go like clubs we have separate section in our supermarkets where they can buy wine, alcohol and ham. We have a secular courts for them."
We try to make everyone comfortable.

The Nazis started taking control of the Jews in Germany by denying them access to public pools. It wasn't long after that that Jews were denied access to breath life-sustaining air, if you know what I mean. It was a type of forced submission of the Jews from the Nazis with the public pool situation. This is kind of a reverse of that where the minority is forcing submission of the majority.

excellent point Mutainia! We now allow foot baths in some airports and universities, yet grade schools have to call the Christmas party a holiday party. Or Christmas break is now the holiday break. If those who read this are going to give me negative votes left and right, remember that are country was founded on Christian Judeo beliefs...not islamic, buddism, atheistic, or kwanzistic beliefs.
The last bastion to be assaulted is the United States Supreme Court where the ten commandments are still on the doors and the ceiling and roof of that Court. We will truly know we are being assaulted like the Nazis did the Jews when the Supreme Court is no longer allowed to keep those carvings and sculptures.

This country, thankfully, was founded on the belief that the government should not establish one particular religion over another. It's in the constitution as the 'establishment clause.' I know you people hate to actually read and follow the constitution, but before claiming what this country was founded on (and it would be deist beliefs -- which aren't necessarily Christian) you may consider the actual constitution. Which sets out exactly what the 'fathers' of this country wanted for its people.

And the Nazis worked hard to make Arabs and Muslims their allies. They even had Muslims from Eastern Europe and EurAsia serving in the Waffen SS by the time the war was winding down.

So Harvard, like every other University, needs money. Things like this never cease to amaze me. We hate their religion, we don't like their culture, we don't even like their way of life. Yet, Universities take their money, our government conducts business with them cause we need their oil but can't just be satisfied with buying it at market rate like all other countries do. Our government interfers in the various ME regions & even invaded a country in the Middle East. Seriously, why bother? Why conduct business with people whose religion, culture, way of life we despise? Why take their money? Why continue to do business with them? I think we should just develop an alternative method for oil, & shut them out of our lifes completly. Then we don't have to whine about islam, their culture, or their way of life.
