Well, women have more rights in Islam but unfortunately they are not getting them from their husbands. Sometimes it so happens that women are treated badly by their men but men are answerable to God for the treatment of women. If Sharia is applied women will get all their rights lock, stock and barrel.

Husbands and wives are partners---equals in their relationship always. Most muslim women haven't learned this yet, but they will.

To say this is only true of Muslim women is disingenuous and culturally blind. It's not your religion, it's not your culture. You don't know how the majority of the women in that situation feel.
Oppression of this sort (It being oppressive from a western, modern view) can be found in fundamentalist Christians of all sorts in addition to some Christians who don't fall so far right on the spectrum.
