    In a related incident.

On November 2, Saudi Arabia executed Mustafa Ibrahim for sorcery in Riyadh. Ibrahim, an Egyptian working as a pharmacist in the northern town of `Ar'ar, was found guilty of having tried "through sorcery" to separate a married couple, according to a Ministry of Interior statement.

It's good to see that our friends from the Left, Itachirumon and Welfare made me rich, who apparently approve of executions for witchcraft. Do you also agree with the Islamists that gays and adulterers deserve the death penalty?

Practices like this clearly demonstrate just how stuck in the past most countries in the middle east are! We only hear of a very small percentage of the autrocities committed in the name os Islam.

In fact it is you who are living in the past not Muslims, you have the technology yet you live like pagans. I want you to check this out to find out how backward you are.

When so many are willing to support a fundie like Huckabee, who wants to rewrite the constitution under biblical guidelines, if we are not vigilant we will not be far from falling into the abyss of religious zeal

No matter how much oil, and money those people have they are still 200 years behind civilization. That is how they control their people. Some day the people will rise up, and behead the King, and all his cohorts.

How do you know about witchcrafts? why don't you Google to find out the effect of which craft and why it is baned in Islam? So Muslims are 200 years behind as you are 5000 years behind civilization, you don't even know what which craft is because you blind folks don't believe in anything. Your god died for the sins of the criminals. Your so called human right activist cry foul for these criminals. You are the only people who want to protect deadly criminals. Your leaders kill millions of people but your human right activists shout and stop at that and noting happens. Why don't your tell your human right activists to bring criminal charges against Bush and his buddies who invade and kill innocent people?

Well they can't point to the Salem trials now. At least at those trials the accused was allowed representation etc.

Right, some "trials" in Salem Endo. If she floats she's a witch and must be drug up and killed. If she sinks she's innocent and we send a good girl to Heaven aye?!?!?!?!

Truly disgraceful for a religion that 'teaches love and compassion' to treat a woman accused of witchcraft in that manner.

But, then again, this was a female in a Muslim country.

I wonder how a male 'witch' would be treated?

They beacons of equality in this case.

From the last paragraph in the story.

In fact it is disgraceful for the people who don't understand what is which craft and it's effect on people. Some do it for fun but a lot of people do it that to attack and destroy others.

And that bishop in England wants Sharia law in conjunction with British law. He must have had a spell placed on him by some Islamic witch.

When Saudi Arabia does not question the law of other countries, why other countries are poking their dirty nose in to that kingdom. It is their religion and their law and customs. How clean are others to preach?

Saudi Arabia does not poke their noses into other countries because they have oil & don't need other countries for anything. They sell their oil to many countries. EU, Asia.

If & when we deveop an alternative method for oil, we can cut of all our business ties with them. In fact, we should pull our companies offices out of all the Middle East regions. When I worked for HP here I also worked on assignment in the Middle East. I was surprised to see how many of our companies have offices there. Microsoft, Sun, Intel, Amdahl etc. Why continue to do business with people whose cultural & religious practices we disagree with? We don't like them, fair enough. Why have an Embassy in every country in the Middle East? Of course if my former HP Manager read this he'd get a fit. He was looking at the bottom line & profits. Buisness, money, oil. That's the only reason we continue to maintain a relationship with them.

The Salem Witch Trials were in 1692

That makes Saudi Arabia about 300 years behind the times

They have oil; we don't. That gives them advancement.

Wether they have witches or not is completly irrelevant. What we should focus on is developing an alternative method for oil. So we catch up to them in that much more important aspect. Witches & what happens to them is not important. Oil is important.

No one deserves conviction with out proof of guilt, and if she did commit with craft it is between her and God.

It sounds like she is guilty because they want her guilty, to have her sign something she could not read and she had no advocate to help her is obviuos she is a victim corrpution!

                          Daylight read this:

Sharia is often referred to as Islamic law, but this is wrong, as only a small part is irrefutably based upon the core Islamic text, the Koran. A correct designation is "Muslim Law" (i.e. the law system of the Muslims), or "Islam-inspired", "Islam-derived," or even "the law system of Muslims."

This is well known to most Muslims, yet Sharia is always referred to as "based upon the Koran", hence it is the "will of God."

One sees traces of many non-Muslim juridical systems in the Sharia, such as Old Arab Bedouin law, commercial law from Mecca, agrarian law from Madina, law from the conquered countries, Roman law and Jewish law.

You should learn about your "religion" before commenting on how great it is..Notice it says from Roman and Jewish laws as well as other non religious factions..Guess you might be Jewish!

I can't comment on Sharia law because I haven't read much about it.

We don't like the countries in the Middle East. We don't like their religion, we don't like their culture. Why continue to do business with them? I hope we develop an alternative method for oil so we don't have to keep interfering in their business & sticking our noses into their business.

We also don't like the governments in Venezuela, we have a problem with Cuba. We are the most advanced country in the world. We have the best technological sector of any country in the world (of course with the help of foreign Engineers who come here). We have the best military in the world (partly comprised of men & women from foreign countries who joined the military to aquire US citizenship). We have the best medical advancements here (with the help of many Doctors from foreign countries). Well, we've got it made. Except, we depend on other countries for oil. Damm it.

Only because we meddle in their affairs. If we cut of all business ties with them, they wouldn't be interested in us either.

Me? Hell no. The only people whose execution I support are the executioners -- of whatever religion or persuasion. Once we get rid of THEM, we can stop with all this needless executing all over the place.

Meanwhile, as for negging articles, I wouldn't be too quick to assume it necessarily indicates support for that which the article condemns. Maybe they objected to some other aspect of it.
