From the article "As though Christians, Hindus, Buddhists or Jews were imprisoning people over teddy bears' names, or flogging women for the "crime" of being raped!
The fact is that most of the Islamic world is backward economically, politically and culturally. To ignore this backwardness, and the extent to which a kind of madness, by no means limited to a handful of mass murderers, has taken root within many Islamic societies, is a willful blindness that serves no one's interest."

Since John, (the author of this story) likes to investigate the authors of stories he doesn't like. I thought as a public service his obvious bias should be investigated as well. From Wikipedia "On February 20, 2005, Minnesota anonoblogger "minnpolitics" published a profanity-laced email John Hinderaker wrote in response to an email comment about Jeff Gannon:[13]
You dumb $h1t, he didn't get access using a fake name, he used his real name. You lefties' concern for White House security is really touching, but you know what, you stupid ******, I think the Secret Service has it covered. Go crawl back into your hole, you stupid left-wing $h1thead. And don't bother us anymore. You have to have an IQ over 50 to correspond with us. You don't qualify, you stupid $h1t."

BoBo - I have to say I think you're "flogging a dead donkey" here. There have been a few threads over this (which I participated in, quite vociferously), but the Sudanese Govt, having made it's political point, has now pardoned the teacher...
I neither condoned nor agreed with the actions taken, but enough's enough.
This was POLITICAL (if you ignore the few hundred brain-dead morons that were protesting for her death, what's the odds they all were from a single nutters mosque) !!!

bobo-in-texas9 months, 1 week ago
There is a political aspect but the larger point is that there is real dangerous, and incompatible with western values, aspect of societies in much of the Islamic world.
Here's another example from Hamas
In a kindergarten graduation ceremony featured yesterday on Palestinian television, boys outfitted with toy machine guns, camouflage fatigues and ski masks marched to a military beat and declared their "most lofty aspiration" to be "death for the sake of Allah."
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?A...
As stated in this article, to ignore this willfully ignoring reality.

Bobo - I'm very well aware of how Hamas educates their chidren. This is mild compared to some of the stuff I saw when I lived in Israel for 2 1/2 years......
Teaching 11/12 year olds how to use a garotte, how to use grenades, how to use an AK47 (NOT a toy one), etc etc etc....
BUT, it's not completely relevant to this thread. This is about the Sudanese Govt's excuse to batter the west, and make them grovel.... AKA, politics !!!

In truth these Governments want the civilized world to let them alone. They are what they are, and it will be centuaries before they are civilized. Their creed is "Don't call us intolerant or we will kill you." Why would a non-Muslim go there in the first place if she did not understand what they stand for, total intolerance.

Dude don't waste your time responding to these dumb asses.
They have their minds made up of what the Islamic world is like, having never left their shacks down in the Southern part of America. All these people do is parot stupid $hit that they have heard from other people, this is one of the reasons why a majority of the world thinks Americans suck.
Now, I agree that what happened in Sudan is some fu_ked $hit and I am glad that it got resolved peacefully. But the insanity that happens in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran and parts of Afghanistan, don't happen in Malaysia, the UAE, Qatar, Mali, Senegal, Algeria, Morroco, Djibouti and other more rational Islamic countries

I would never ask a Muslim to change their beliefs, but could they not be more tolerant of other religions? No. Their whole religion is based on converting or killing the infidel, the rest of us!
Why should a Muslim change his belief? If he is wrong he can mend his ways like everybody. Where did you get this BS. Why do I care even if you go to hell, anyway that is where you belong.

I'm not surprised that you wouldn't care about someone going to Islamic hell, Daylight. By the way. Anyone interested in typing into your web browser "Islamic view of hell"? IF you study the Islamic view of hell, as depicted in the Quran, I think you'll pitty Daylight, not make fun of him. The guy is in complete terror of, perhaps, the most Satanic, evil, monstrous "god" ANYone could have EVER dreamt up. He's trying to please this "god" by being a "Jihadist of the Pen" in order to keep from strapping on a bomb and getting his virgins THAT way. So, in a way, this IS more noble of him. Plus, he let's us know the TRUE Islamic mentality that threats the world.

I'll respond to you in a civilized manner. There was a time when your so called religion converted people by the use of force so you can keep that holier than thou chicken bleep. Now, does a small minority of crazies speak for the whole of a religion or culture? No. I'm sure ( well i'd like to believe anyway) the Klan and other Christian Identity groups don't speak for the whole of White Christianity.
Islam is not practiced the same in every Islamic country. Northern Africa is different than the ME, the Indian sub-continent is different than Central Asia and so on.
You lot have had your crazies to. The Lords Resistance Army, Aryian Brotherhood and quite possibly one of the greatest Christian mass murders since Colombus, Jim Jones. So kiss off

Personally I believe that Islam is a good and peaceful religion but those psychos over there have taken it out of
context and used it to justify all their insane actions. They are abusing it. How much more psycho can U get when U want someone put to death over a teddy bear because they think someone has been offended who's been dead for how many centuries? They're nuts! It would be better if they all blew themselves up.

Of course like the American elected dictator and his cohorts, who love killing innocent people if they are not Christians and uses all the excuse with the help of the media to bomb them, so this is what you call it civilized world. It's not that the Sudanese wanted it, it is what your media wanted to tell you, they know that you are zombies and they also know you can be taken for a ride because your knowledge of the world and other cultures are not even 5 th grad.

Daylight's comments just underscores the problem of a lack of moderate voices coming from the Muslim world.
Instead of outrage at radical Islam's intolerance for punishing rape victims or calling for the execution of a well-meaning teacher (leaving Britain for Sudan no less!), Daylight only gets outraged by our daring to be outraged over such atrocities...

Daylight. You must surely concede that the Sudanese government are corrupt and vile murderers and very backward. I don't blame Islam for this purely because the government are Islamic and this Sudanese regime must be an embarrasment to your religion. Trust me, our media are not wrong on Sudan (I would examine carefully your own blinkered media though) and 2 million dead will vouch for that along with people who have actually been there and witnessed events first hand.

Well Daylight I guess there's just no pleasing a person as knowledgeable and perfect as U. Things happening in Sudan now don't happen here over a teddy bear. Oh we've had some shameful eras in American history but nothing like executing a woman over a teddy bear. U must be a misanthrope. Get a life. Get some therapy. Get laid.

"Personally I believe that Islam is a good and peaceful religion but those psychos over there have taken it out of context"
Out of context? Those "psychos over there, in Sudan"?
What about in Indonesia? And in the Phillippines? And in Bali. And in France. And in England. And in Spain. And across the rest of Europe. And throughout the Middle East. And in northern Africa.
Hmmmm.... Could it be that this is just one nutty, cult-like religion, with a really f**ked-up way of dealing with the rest of the world? Yes, I believe that could be it, in fact, that IS it. Why, our very own "Daylight" hates America and wishes that anyone who disagrees with him should go to hell, and he doesn't even KNOW us.
Mighty screwed-up indeed.

saintetienne, many Muslims were deeply dismayed by the pathetic and overblown hysteria in Khartoum. It is irrational to tar over one billion adherents of Islam with the same brush.
It is a great pity, however, that there was not more condemnation voiced in the more moderate Muslim world.

The knowedge of the world displayed in some of the comments here is laughable.
Yes Indonesia is Muslim, but with a western legal system, they were very quick to capture the Bali bombers and sentence them to death, Bali is in Indonesia!
Phillippines? I don't see the point of this comment it is 95% Christians mostly Catholic less the 5% is Muslim.
I have been to both Inonesia and Bali, like many Australians, and found the people very friendly.

1) Bali is part of indonesia you dumb ass
2) Abu Sayyaf is a small group of brigands that saner groups like the Moro Liberation Front, disdain.
3)What terrorist act have Muslims done in France? If you're talking about the riots, the riots were caused when two Northern African youths were run over by the cops and the cops fled the scene so now what?
4) Last I checked ETA wasn't a Muslim organization
5) Islam is no more or less of a cult than Christianity

Daylight's posts are so infantile and off topic that it leaves me wondering if he's for real at all, and not just some poser who enjoys trying to irritate people for his own amusement.I mean, his post above implies (to me) that this incident never happened and is a ploy to degrade Islam concocted by western media. If he believes that, he's either dumb or crazy, or both..or he's a poser.Either way, it's become quite boring.

I'd LIKE to believe that Daylight is just a creation of an anti-Islamic group to make Islam look insane and evil just to make us all fearful of Islam. But, hey, I've READ the Quran. Type into your web browser "Prophet of Doom", and you will learn, rather quickly, WHY the poor devils go mad.

Funny, I read it as the Western Media put its typical spin on the piece. They seem to pick up all the little stories of injustice from any Muslim countries, and then tweak them in such a way as to completely inflame the reader.

.... daylight ....The omnipotent and benevolent child of the merciful Allah sent this interesting note to me once ""We don't give a damn about Hypocrites and nonbelievers, they can follow their way of life we will follow our way of life." However, he still seems to defend the 'true faith of Allah' by spouting what appears to be emotional non-sequiturs about infidels going to 'the Muslim hell' and non-Muslim people being less intelligent than a herd of dumb animals. I think, the kind and all knowing daylight, needs a good fix of Thorazine to settle himself down so he can think straight, otherwise his pent up frustrations and dementia just makes him look like he "is shooting in the dark" AGAIN.

He has to believe that we who don't bow five times a day to the big, dark, cube in Mecca, are pure, satanic evil, because, if we AREN'T pure satanic evil, WHY should Allah have our skins burned off and replaced, daily, throughout infinitey, drinking boiling water, every two days, like a diseased camel with a raging thirst? (That's in the Quran, by the way, IF you think I'm, as Muhairi8 says I am, a liar). Oh my gosh! I can't beLIEVE it! I went to search for those scriptures again with MY web browser, and, all I got were MY sayings from Propeller about the camel and skin being burned off! GAD!!! Well, type "Islamic hell". You might find those Quranic scriptures THAT way! Believe me, I'm NOT trying to add something to the Quran that's not already there.

You guys are polevaulting over mouse turds here. The sad fact is that the muslims of today, unlike their ancestors, are backward, socially retarded and generally bigoted people with few social graces and very little understanding of the modern world. As Lawrence of Arabia once said, "they are a little people, a dirty people, barbarous, cruel and ignorant." - little has changed since then. Sad to say, that most muslims are ignorant socioparhetic pigs living in the ninth century and the few that are intelligent are afraid to speak out for fear of retribution by the crazy imams who run their pathetic quasi-religion. To bad - for a people who excelled in medicine, mathimatics and astronomy all those years ago to have come to such a sad and dangerous end. Allah is a fraud and Muhammaud was a con man of the first order. As for daylight - he's a simple minded putz!
