That is some hilarious satire. Of course, it will be roundly criticized as 'that's not what He meant' or something like that, but it's still hilarious.

I'm sure some will find it offensive.

Jesus would probably say something about turning the other cheek to anyone offended.

Jeezus, on the other hand, would probably advocate suppressing freedom of speech.

      Neo,

Just before I came to your comment, I was wondering "Where is Goppy when we need him most? His infinite wisdom will take us into the dark corners of the "EEvangelical" mind!"

And there you are. You beat me to it by a mere 11 hours!

I know that Buddhists are nonviolent people,

Do you really believe this myth, the recent example is Myanmar, and there are many Buddhist countries are in turmoil and people are dying like flies.

I know that, coming from me, this statement will probably surprise many of you (who think you have me figured out), but-----

There's a lot of truth in this article!

And I think that many who "get a good belly-laugh" out of this post are actually laughing at a caricature that they think is how many of "those ignorant Christians" perceive the Son of God.

But I also sadly think that, if confronted by the Biblical Jesus, most of the "belly-laughers" would find some way to reject Him then, too......

Let's see, what were the lyrics of that pop song sung by B.J. Thomas back in the 70's???---

          Oh, yes:

"There is none so blind as he who WILL NOT SEE.....!!!"

I figure that there are none so blind as those who believe that they see something that isn't actually there.

First of all vetty, if Jesus came back today, it would be us Christian Conservatives who would be crucifyin him - AND FAST!!

How long do you think it would be before Rush Limbaugh, Bill OReailly, and Ann Coulter would be pillorying Jesus when he started preachin "Peace", "Help for the Sick", "Mercy for the poor", "Love your Neighbor - even ifn hes gay".

The fact is, if we Christian Conservatives truly followed Jesus, wed all be 'PROGRESSIVE' Liburals!

            THINK ABOUT IT~~

Stand Jesus next to Rush Limbaugh - we Conservatives GOT to go with Rush - EVERYTIME!!

Will one thing the Christian god has over the rest of the gods is the fact there are three of them. The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. It'll always be 3 to 1 unless the other gods unite and gang up on him.

Wil: Great Humorous and sadly mostly true. No wonder we a have a problem identifying the truth when the Ultra Cons throw in their version of what Jesus said. They will know the truth one day hopefully in time to set them free. Oh wait I used a word they hate FREE. Unless it was they paid for something. I would add Jesus " Do unto others as you would have them do to you." Republican version " Do unto others so they can't do unto you."

              CBG,

I always wondered if there were two Jesus's!

              One that walked on this earth and preached about being human, kind, compassionate and loving the fellow human beings, against violence and hatred, and against the power of money;

The other being the DollarJesus, whose image was created-by "Eevangelical" Opportunists-in greed, hypocrisy and lies, except that this Jesus never really existed except in the minds of those phony preachers who used the name to enrich themselves and enslave the minds of millions upon millions of trusting people.

What this caricature does is bring the DollarJesus face-to-face with the real Jesus.

For the sake of simplicity, I will refer to DollarJesus in future as $Jesus$!

              Peace and Blessings!

I thought the Repubs swiped what we said in the Fleet for generations;"Do unto the other as you think he wants to do unto you;but do it better, and do it FIRST!!!"

This is an anti Christian and anti Republican. This is obvious if you look at what is being said and the pictures.

It has nothing to do with truth. All good humor has truth behind it.

If you think it is anti-Christian, than you definitely aren't one.

It's the Republicans that are really anti-Christian. They twist EVERYTHING up into its double-speak antithesis.

Isn't the artist of this cartoon afraid he'll have to go into hiding like the Danish cartoonists after the ones they did of Muhammed? I guess not. Oh, by the way, IF you are going to lampoon us Christians, it's not pronounced "Jeezus", it's pronounced "JAYzus!"

I went to Catholic schools in my youth. They tried to insert some burning embers from time to time. As far as supporting skools, I am happy to pay my share of the taxes even though my children get little benefit. What I don't understand is, why my children (in private school) can't get a ride on a public schoolbus?
