Said Griffin: "Suck it, Jesus."
She was making fun of superstition and ridiculous habits of celebrities who think imaginary friends have something to do with them being given awards. E! is foolish to censor what was probably the most entertaining part of yet another dull awards show.
Come on, E!, at least put it on YouTube.

To-may-to, to-mah-to.
That wouldn't have been as funny because it wouldn't be lampooning silly celebrities who thank jebus for statuettes.
It would have been funny if she satirically thanked Mohammad or the Flying Spaghetti Monster because it would juxtapose the silliness.
But I think she scored maximum comedy points with the route she took. I guess that's why she won the emmy.

C'mon Neo...respect the beliefs of others...I am a Christian, what you might call a moderate...I respect your right to believe what you want to, OK??? Just don't smear my beliefs!!!
That said, I'm tired of empty platitudes from those who don't really Believe anyway!!!(I strongly suspect Jesus is REALLY sick of it!!!)
Besides, Did ya see how skinny that chick is??? She would run in panic from any Pastafarian...Alfredo or Marinara sects!!!
RAMEN!!!

(((C'mon Neo...respect the beliefs of others...))) I respect your right to believe BUT, I do not have to respect your beliefs. Nothing personal, but, I no more need to respect your beliefs then I do the KKK's, Fred Phelps or faith healing cults who pray for their children rather then take them to the Dr.'s or some perverted pedophile cult that marries of their 13 year old daughters to 50 year old men in forced marriages. And I won't even mention the lack of respect non-believes (like me) get from your fellow Christians. ( ;

On my local news I discovered that Jesus helped Appalachian State beat Michigan two weekends ago. The player said "all praise and glory go to Jesus for this victory". Might as well said "and he hates those losers from Michigan". No mention of what position Jesus played or why he was not nominated for defensive or offensive player of the week. Tainted their win for me. You know because they had JESUS on their team. Hardly an upset when you have a Man/God on your side.
I love Griffins initial comment but she probably should have held off on the "suck it" part. Leave that for South Park (remember the Christian Music episode?). Without that, I think she has a great case. Why don't they simply edit that remark? Maybe she was just trying to provoke the Second Coming, as if that's ever going to happen! LOL!
Sorry Shadowolf, feeling blasphemous today...couldn't resist.

If Jesus played football, (or gave a rat's a$$ about it wouldn't he make Notre Dame win all the time?)
Dissing popular deitys is the 3rd rail of entertainment.(I guess.) Maybe if she dissed allah or vishnu it wouldn't be censored. She should have stuck with Hermes or Artemis biting the big one.

I think it was Patrick Henry who said "I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it!!!"
Personal feeling: Jesus is probably sick of all the $h!t blamed on him!!!

Sorry AmericanIdiot, but God is a Denver Broncos fan; blue and orange...the color of our beautiful sunsets over the mountains.
But, lately, he hasn't been helping us unless you count the field goal against Buffalo with 0 seconds left in regulation that gave us a 15 - 14 win! God must have guided Jason Elam's leg, for that last kick, because he missed his 2 previous attempts.
And, the player who had a "catastrophic" spinal cord injury, Everett, is said to look like he will fully recover now; an almost medical miracle from this type of injury. Of course, that was a heads up move from the onsite medical staff that gave him a saline injection, immediately, to stop cellular damage.

Not totally sure why they censored her. A lot of Christians probably would have agreed with her.

All I can say is lighten up. The remarks can only offend if you demand that others think that your deity is the one true real grand poobah of time and space.(which obviously is not the case here with Ms. Griffin) Again respect for your right to believe in the stuff you were told when you were 3 and say what you think is granted, but no such quarter is given to actually respecting those beliefs themselves. Epicurus Eats! Zeus Rotates! LOL

The churches of America (the world for that matter) have a lot more to contend with than Kathy Griffin's ill advised remarks.
The Catholic League must be desperate for the focus to be shifted from their own defamers.
I'll go so far as to say Jesus might suffer (tolerate) her remarks given the context of our climate of Jesus for sports, war, hate, financial gain, Cheeto-s and every other G damn thing people recrucify him for.
Get a real life and live it to your best and stop all the G damn witch hunts.
PS. - Had D**k In A Box saved in my youtube files. It has disappeared. Dick Scarface Cheney is still there though.

If you say, quite truly, that Intelligent Design is not science they scream that their rights are being violated.
What Hypocrites!
Has Kathy Griffin been "Expelled"? maybe Ben Stein should do a documentary on her.

Thank Goddess someone called out celebrities on their narcicism. Do they really think Jesus is picking the Emmy's? Do they really think God chose them to have food and others to die of starvation. What kind of sick puppy is this Jesus character that television keeps ramming down our throats. Bravery is supposed to be a highly thought of quality in America. Kathy Griffin is a brave woman. She is a truth teller, and they always incite the masses.

Jesus' clear instructions were not to pray for more than 'daily bread' and 'forgiveness'.
Not to make a public spectacle of prayer.
Nor to concern yourself with tomorrow's wants.
Nor to store up 'treasure' on Earth.
No one who is clearly breaking these instructions can be considered a Christian.
Which means that most, if not all, of you have never met, or seen, or heard about one single Christian person, regardless of how they advertised themselves.

Jesus Christ, what is wrong with people? Look, the only thing I have to respect about religion is a person's right to choose to believe anything they want. That doesn't mean that I have to keep my mouth shut about the ridiculousness of religion in general OR particular.
Kathy Griffin is being CENSORED. Let me see now, I seem to remember something about free speech. Oh, that's right, it's "CONGRESS shall make no law..." doesn't say anything about E!. I guess it's okay to censor someone if they might offend somebody. I wonder if the Christians would complain if she hammered away on the Muslims like this? Do you suppose if she had said something about the Jews that Mel Gibson would be the only one cheering?
This is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

I don't follow you. Are you saying E! has the right to censor her because they are not congress? If that's the case, I agree with you. But the rest of your post seems to indicate it was wrong for them to do so. If that's the case, I disagree with you, though affirm your right to say it. E! is a business, and as such should have control over the content of it's programs, just as religious broadcast groups should have control over their own programs.
Censoring her was the right thing for E! to do. An effective test would be to change the target group. Suppose she had said, "I won this award by beating out those nappy-headed hoes" or "It feels great winning out over all those f****ts". If either of those were the case, we wouldn't even be having this debate.
The only purpose of her remarks was to intentionally insult a certain segment of the population. But may God (my God, not hers) bless her anyway.

You don't follow what I'm saying? Let me make it more clear.
Although E!, as a business, has the right to censor anyone they choose, I think it is wrong for them to do so. The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law..." it does not say that private businesses do not have the right to do so. However, I wonder if the groups complaining about Kathy Griffin going after Christians would be as upset if she went after Muslims or Jews. After all, those three groups all worship the same god just with different doctrine and dogma, but they all worship the same god.
Censorship of this kind is wrong. Is it clear now?

Mock God and she will laugh all the way to her reward.... that she so rightly deserves! Better keep an eye out over your shoulder Cathy... God doesnt edit out your lifes script!
I say that her comments shoud be heard... and then let the public decide if she is so deserving....

What a waste of time and effort. She's at best a D-line comic. Rarely is she funny. So now she's joined in the anti-Christian forces and attacked us. Will it help her career? Who knows? No, better yet, who cares. It only shows her ignorance.
When Cramer attacked African Americans everyone was up in arms, do you think the press will attack her?

She didn't attack anyone. She made fun of silly celebrities and silly ideas.

Do you REALLY think that God had anything to do with anyone winning anything? Come on, that would suggest that God chooses sides. Do you think He does that?
She was making fun of people that think that Jesus sincerely cares whether or not they won an award. She was not making fun of Jesus. Funny, I know for a fact that you think it's funny when Ann Coulter attacks liberals and calls them every name in the book. What's the difference?

BK: "Hallowed be Thy name..." Grk: Hagiadzo: to make holy, sanctify, dedicate. My name is not the same as God's, neither is a conservative or liberal. I don't agree with name calling, but God says that using His name in vain will hold a person guilty of sin before Him.
Our forefathers did not have blasphemy in mind when they penned in the Bill of Rights: "Congress shall make no law..."
Don't try to wiggle out of this & former statements. -Rev. S

I really feel sorry for religious people who think respect is given, not earned. Pretty much every Christian I've ever known thinks it's A-OK to ridicule my beliefs, but the moment I say anything even remotely derogatory about theirs, they start wailing and whining about "respect". Major hypocrites.

There was no TV in Jesus's day. Why, therefore, thank him for prizes won in this day and age? Ben Franklin and his kite would be a more logical choice....
