May he have his quivering fat liposuctioned from his ample jowls and neck, even unto the cavernous void within his skull, so that it may be fed to the carrion and the starving multitudes that flock to hear his hollow words.

I sunk this article because to be honest, I found the blog to be undreadable. I didn't understand if the preacher had actually said to "pray for the deaths of his critics" or if he had done some clever reference to parts of the Old Testament that talked about God avenging enemies.

I just found it to be poorly written. I'd gladly vote for an article that was clearly written.

Just what I like, a compassionate Christian. With this imbecile around, Huckabee doesn't need any enemies.

He is turning the other cheek, so you can kiss that one too!

praying for the death of anyone-why would anyone ever believe he preached Christian values ever again? what a greedy, power hungry, vindictive, hypocrite this guy sounds like.

One of gods children spreading the doctrine of tolerance we request a Muslim to accept. Religion is a bane on humanity.

No exceptions, Christianity, Muslims, Judaism etc. all the same, just plain hypocrisy and acceptance of misery in the pursuit of an everlasting paradise any common sense person would question without exception.

Any church that starts talking about politics should be taxed to the hilt.

No, ALL churches should be taxed EQUAL to businesses. I am a Christian but I don't understand why churches are exempt from taxation.

They should pay property tax and they should be treated like a corporation for tax purposes.

Any time a preacher starts praying for the death of those who don't agree with them their followers should flee.

                Acer454, . . I don't know, maybe it's the heat.

A study of Demographics indicates rural politics and religious view are, for want of a better word, rather reactionary.

The saying goes: What became of the Dixiecrats? They became Reagan Republicans.

Please do note that this story hails from Buena Park California, and I live in Texas. The deep south. There are some here that are still fighting the Civil War, and are generally ignored. Why are you still fighting it?

People can pray all they want to God to harm people. But He will not listen to them. The Devil obeys Gods commands and does whatever He asks. The Devil has the power of all the people here on Earth so that the people are tested to see how much love they have for God. Therefore, this preacher will not get what he wants nor any other preacher or teacher in other religions as well. These kinds of people only use others for power and money for themselves. They really have no love for other humans but themselves. That is my opinion.

Let's delve slightly deeper about the tax situation of the church.

                    1) Money is transferred from the giver to the receiver.

                    2) The giver is willing to part with that money. (although they do not HAVE to)

                    3) The giver gets the money from taxed income, but can claim the total amount paid to the church as deductions.

                    4) For a normal business, payments cannot usually be deducted.

                    5) UNLIKE a normal business, the receiver does not get any tangible goods in return. (Maybe securing your passage to Heaven is a "tangible goods")

I suppose one could argue that the institution of the church is predicated upon helping the needy and the government wants to encourage that. I don't have a problem with that until you start to mention the mega churches that pay the pastors millions for compensation.

So there you have it. I do agree that the church should also be taxed on it's income and more should be done to monitor where the money goes and how much a pastor can get paid.

These are the ones that give religion a bad name. His solution to a problem is to kill the ones that are causing the problem. How sad that people believe in him. they ought to make his ministry a group of one and abandon this goof ball.

This is Arkansas. The NOT from the marriage law came from the Ten Commandments line, "Thou shall not kill." See it fell out of the Bible and landed in the law books, so two year olds can marry.

It's that good 'old time' religion. As in the Old Testament.

The razing of Jericho is an early example of genocide. Ethnic cleansing is an old established tradition in the Bible. Many sheep believe that if it's in the Bible it must be holy. The book is full of unholy acts and some sheep lead by unholy men do not consider the difference.

Imprecatory prayer. Interesting. If I ever again have a religious notion, I'll give it a go. Meanwhile, I'll get to work on a target list for God's consideration. Thank you for sharing your Christian principles, Preacher Drake.

i'm glad of this post. shows just how far the church has fallen. this is why Church n I have a problem . not very "christian" to pray for the death of any one. maybe he's with one of those islamic or musslum churches where its ok to pray for the death of others. or maybe he belongs to a satan worshiping church . Its people like this that give religon and church a bad name , like the prist pervs . why not let these guys marry a girl. then maybe they wouldn't turn fag or perv.

I'll never under stand church. so i'll just belive in God n jesus and try to get by as best i can and with out church

If I were you KnightsDragon2- I'd try and concentrate more on the ways of Jesus, since you claim to be Christian, yet make disgusting hateful judging remarks against homosexuals, including that priests turn fag. Look for a list of remarks like that, that Jesus made! you'll be looking a very long time...which would be good, keep your hateful bigot self out of society for awhile.
