    Hmac, I challenge you to step onto a transit system platform that incorporates electric trains. There will be a "WARNING" sign, some of them actually explaining that the "3rd rail" carries 10,000 volts DC, and therefore touching it in any way will result in serious electric shock, possibly even death. Are you going to rebelliously discount that sign by the sign it's self? By your reasoning, the only way to proove that sign to be true is to touch the 3rd rail, correct?

    I now again challenge you to let the Holy Spirit touch you, and therefore expose the revelation of Jesus Christ in your life as more real than anything else you have ever experienced.

              So the book of Daniel is fiction? The tale of Solomon is fiction? The exile and slavery of the Jews in both Babylon and Egypt is ficion? Why then is there more written in other works about those events than there is about Jesus?

            The real revelation of Jesus Christ comes through submission to the Holy Spirit.

                Too bad millions of us are still walking the earth, still speaking the testimony of Jesus Christ. Otherwise, it would probably be a lot easier to dismiss this (what you consider) ugly mess we call Christianity.

                Unfortunate to your peace of mind, we WILL remain until Jesus comes again.

                What puzzles me is, you know all this already. You already know the Truth. It must be very frustrating to live to deny the Truth. It must be very hard to wake up every morning believing your mission for another day is to defend satan and his lies.

                My heart goes out to you, brother. I look forward to the day when you return. And I know it will happen.

        Unfortunately, the first elders of the Church tampered with the order of the Bible texts. They are not in chronological order.

        I view the Old Testament as the history of Judaism. The New Testament as the foundations of Christianity.

        Somewhere in the transition between books, God is changed from a vengeful warrior God to a God of love and peace. Interesting.

        As with some of the Great Philosophers of history, neither God nor Jesus wrote anything. Further since I know of no ancient short hand, just how did the scribes of the time manage to purportedly record 'everything' that occurred when it occurred? How did the Apostles manage to accurately remember Jesus exact words some fifty years after he died on the cross?

        Many would have us believe these were God inspired when they wrote. Perhaps, but it makes me a bit suspicious of some of the writing because whatever man touches is corrupt.

        TIME magazine had an interesting article on religion.

          If there were no Christianity, we would invent another religion because we are wired for religion. Something to ponder.

          Judaism obviously has forgotten its history. They lament still the persecution by the Nazi's and the attempt of genocide. God commanded the Jews to commit genocide in the Old Testament!

          Elisha raised a boy from the dead long before Christ raised Lazarus, yet we celebrate this miracle by Christ and not Elisha. Go figure.

          The King James translation is fraught with error. If you can find a copy, read the Bible of Peshitta by Dr. George Lamsa who was raised in an area that still speaks Aramaic. He retranslated the Bible from original texts. Some things were made clearer to me in his translation.

          Tracing the lineage of Jesus via St Luke, it credits Joseph as being of the House of David and thus proving the Old Testament predictions as true. Bogus! Since Joseph supposedly had no part in the impregnation, the lineage is bogus but Mary has a lineage via the House of David!

  While working in my workshop the other day I caught the tail end of a interview with a person who was stating that the bible needed to be updated as it was out of touch with today.The only example of his that I caught made sense to me.He said that ever since we have learned about human reproduction and the input of a mother on a child during pregnancy, there is no doubt that Jesus had 50% of his mothers Chromosones making him half human not totaly a God as the father was.

    He was fully human not just half human and had to live a life by faith as we all do. He was tempted in all the ways of man yet was without sin. He is the fullness of God in bodily form. He took on the role of a servant and made Himself lower than the angels. Fully man and truly God. HALLUEJAH TO THE LAMB OF GOD!

            You know the Word of God, and you know that you are citing 2 different kinds of fear in those passages. I did the word study for those who might not know the difference.

            "For God hath not given us the spirit of *FEAR; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" [2Timothy 1:7] *FEAR in this application translates from: "phobos" = "dread, terror, that which strikes terror"

            "The *FEAR of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom..." [Proverbs 9:10] *FEAR in this application translates from: "yir'ah" = "respect, reverence, piety"

              Hmac- re:"Nice try" -> sorry ace, I got caught up in your spin and used the verse which you yourself used: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love" [1John 4:18] - that DOES translate from phobos.

              re:"yir'ah" -> you've just illustrated another example of "playing the dimwit" when you want to. Look at some Bible commentaries (or even use your common sense) and you will clearly see that the meaning in that application, ("fear of the Lord") means "to reverence".

      My girlfriend and I recently talked about this point. True virgin birth in nature yields a female identical to the mother as there are no male chromosomes. Further such reproduction is sterile.

      Mary is claimed to have had a Virgin birth producing a male baby. So, does this prove that god is male? Does it mean Joseph had a part in impregnating Mary and the Holy Ghost changed the child into the Son of God in the womb?

      Why is she called the Birthgiver of God? Jesus never claimed to be God but the Son of God. Humans proclaimed him as God.

      Why is she called the ever virgin Mary? Did they never really have a true marital union? That would not likely be in keeping with Judaic tradition would it?

      After Jesus hits the road, you never hear of Joseph again, only Mary. What was Josephs true role in all of this?

        Or maybe the Jews assimilated the stories of Horus and Mithra and made up the whole Jesus thing, considering that the earliest gospel was written down about 100 years after the death of the supposed son of god.

  Although the name "Jesus Christ" isn't mentioned in the Old Testament, there seems to be symbolic foreshadowing of him in O.T. passages that make NO sense IF Christianity is lie.
