The author sounds like someone with enough confidence in God to let him out of the doctrinal box that man has fashioned.

the author has a "neat concept" in that he is "breaking down walls" that separate, or bring division between many denominations. Not to be negative (but rather to reflect the world we are in, right now), I think to realistically live this "concept" would virtually negate a valuable element of the Christian faith...fellowshipping.
It would be a lengthy (but welcome) transition to basically destroy all "church buildings", destroy all "religious doctrines" and worship as the "Acts Church" did...gathering in our homes, barns and fields. That would re-align us (Christians) with the original design of the "Church" to operate as "the Body of Christ" with Jesus as "the Head".
That "radical concept" would re-define Christianity as to the way it is viewed by the "world" today...for sure.

I would hope he doesn't go to that extreme. I've attended many churches over the years and although there is fellowship to be had, my typical experience is being greeted at the door coming and going, but no open fellowship anywhere else unless directed by the pastor ("turn around and greet the person behind you"). Clearly that doesn't mean that all church denominations are bad - that would be a gross generalization.
A service I attended recently was refreshingly uplifting, so I know differences exist.
There's a book that makes an excellent distinction of church, titled "So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore" . There's also a free .pdf version on the site. http://www.jakecolsen.com/contents.html
I've found more fellowship in recent years outside of specific denominational buildings than all the decades I spent within them. I still attend "church", sometimes in buildings, sometimes online or through TV, depending on my situation at the time.

God gave detailed prescriptions to the Israelites about what He wanted us to live and how to worship Him. What do you suppose would happen to any Hebrew who decided to take it upon himself to interpret Moses' legislation instead of following the interpretation of Moses and Aaron (and their successors)? Well, take a look at what happened to Dathan, Abiram, and Korah in the book of Numbers.
God still works the same way today. The Catholic Church was Christianity for centuries...and still is. Unfortunately, some guy named Martin Luther decided to be the Korah of his generation and, ever since, has led millions to follow him in his errors.
Also, take a look at Israel and Judah after Israel broke away. Their first king, Jereboam, created, on his own initiative, a new passover festival to be celebrated at Bethel to keep his subjects loyal to HIM instead of to the God-ordained temple at Jerusalem. Hmmm, Jereboam, the first Protestant.

Martin Luther left the Catholic church because he realized their doctrine did not allign with that of the bible. It was a office of power.Reading the bible today where all have access to it you can see the reasons why.

Paul came to a point in his life where he said "I desire to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified". I like what this gentlemen said about letting the Holy Spirit work on and through us. The Holy Spirit is our counselor and we should walk after Him. For I was crucified with Christ, it is not I who live but Christ that lives in me. Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. Pick up your cross daily and die to self. God opposes the proud but gives His grace to the humble. :)

Thank you for the comment InChrist! I often get weary of the Religion channel, and not just because there's a lot of strange stuff posted anymore. My main disappointment is discussions involving mostly self-professed Christians who write as though they have complete knowledge and understanding of scripture, which always coincidentally matches their own doctrines and viewpoints. Then it becomes a war of words between believers, while the rest of the world reads the comments, shakes their head in disgust, and walks further away from Christianity because of the example they see being set.
What would it be like if we could actually confess we don't know everything with a humbleness of spirit, and seek ways to support each other instead? We'd certainly show the world a better view and help each other with encouragement in the process, as your words have encouraged me.
Have a great day!

We might just be able to love our neighbors as ourselves then. Judge a little less and love a lot more. oh I could never give into anything belief wise but my faith in Christ yet I won't let any boundaries of my understandings prevent me from loving others. From my perspective and study the Bible stresses love as the glue to faith in Christ.
Wondeful to hear you were encouraged, that encourages me :), those words are of God and I was just coping them into my wording, they were written by man for sure but men that have been touched by the Spirit of Christ. James and Peter both wrote those words down in their letters to the early church. "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Ourself often gets in the way. My pride is a weakness indeed. May the grace of Christ guide your heart always.

Amen! flesh and bone can not speak the truth, but the Holy Spirit speaks forth through a humble soul. That is what we have here, so let the truth come forth in Jesus Christ our Lord.
