I absolutely cannot stand those who preach on and on about the end times. Do you know HOW many generations in the past thought that theirs was the end time? What is the 'end time' mean to some? Does it mean all humans gone? earth disappearing? (rhetorical questions)...I couldnt care less what they think, but to laden busy NY sidewalks with this nonsense should be a crime. Jesus was noted as saying that one should not worry of things to come, for they must be...why cant christians actually follow christ's teachings. He came to teach, not to be worshipped!

[smile] So Jesus was merely a teacher? And not God? Hmmm. Well, I agree with you about the end times - Christ did say, repeatedly, that no man would know the day or hour of His coming and thus we must live our lives in such a way as to be ready to greet Him at any time.

But, Tigra, He was also God; one the ways He demonstrated this was by changing the interpretations of Mosaic law in the Sermon on the Mount without referencing any human authority. "Ye have heard it said...But I say unto you..." That's why His listeners were so astonished at the end of the Sermon. Who does this guy think he is to change the law without quoting the opinions of Rabbi So-and-so?

Also, when the paralyzed man was let down into the midst of the crowd in front of Jesus, He forgave the sins of the man. The scribes thought, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Then Jesus proved He was capable of forgiving the man's sins by telling him to rise up, take his pallet, and go home. And he did.

He did not just come to teach but to die for our sins ensuring those who believe in Him everlasting life. "I am come to give life, and to give it in abundance." John 10:10 "A leper came and worshiped Him." Jesus was worshiped and he received that worship.

There is no contradiction between following Christ's teachings and speaking about the end times. Jesus spoke about them himself. So Christians must too.

The breakdown of the family - ain't that the truth! I don't know if it's extent in the West is unprecedented. At any rate, it sure is killing the West.

Celebrating Easter is a false doctrine? *eyeroll* Oh, please. The author believes Christians should base all their doctrines and actions only on what is written in the Bible. Let's think about that: all texts have to be interpreted. In some cases, like poetry, for example, it's OK for anyone who reads it to interpret it for himself. In some cases it's not OK as in the case of statutes passed by your local legislature. Although, it might be fun if we could all decide for ourselves what those laws REALLY mean : )

Since this is clearly the case, how much more important is it for there to be an authoritative interpreter of God's written word? And don't you think God Himself realized this? Obviously, that's why He established the Catholic Church on His handpicked apostles.

As I said before all these things must come to pass before the end of mans rule on this earth not the end of the world! If you read all the bible it clearly tells you that at the end Jesus will come back to set His kingdom up here on earth after He defeats the antichrist and his armies and Christ will rule the world for 1 thousand years. Than He will go back to heaven for a season, Than at the end God will destroy the world by fire and than rebuild a new world.

And no man knows the time, day or hour not even the Angels only God.

Amen to that. The bible tells us in many places a few I posted above we are to be looking for the signs but not be afraid of them because it means the time is comming. CatholicRedneck. No where in the bible does it give the authority for translation through one man or body except Jesus. It tells us the holy spirit guídes us for who knows the thoughts of man but man but the Holy spirit knows the thoughts of God and man. This reincarnation from Pope to Pope sounds more like a buddist belief. Although Catholics may be one of the first establishments it is by no means the first christians.
