A great debate! Kirks testamony and last words were very well spoken. That Darwin himself was quoted if those missing links from his theory had not been found in 100 years the theory should be abandon doesn't seem to stop his true followers in faith to continue on.

    Imagine the scenario that the Bible doesn't even exist. How do you explain millions [1] taking on the name of Christ (as "Christians"), [2] following His teachings (if He didn't even exist, where did His "teachings" come from?), [3] dieing for His Name's sake?
    On the other hand, would one say a "best-seller" book (scroll, in this case) created all this "fuss"?

      Going off of yoru line of reasoning, because their are millions (actually billions) of christians, christ must have been real?
      So, because the greek gods had millions of believers.. that followed the examples and teachings of the Gods, they greek gods must have been real?
      As far as dieing in his name... I am to assume again that Muhammand and Allah have to be real because Muslims on a daily basis are blowing themselves up in their honor and to further the islamic glory.
      Where did the teachings of Shiva and vishnu come from? Or the teachings of Kuan-Yin? What about the teachings of Horus and the egyptian book of the dead (Life).
      No one doubts the existence of christians, as pliny, suetuenoius and tacitus outlined... but one doubts the existence of a demigod known as Jesus.

The Muslim takes his own and other's lives also (basically murder and suicide) to please his god. The Christian receives eternal life by accepting the sacrifice his God has made for him, (which IS pleasing to our God).

        The same way that science has proven that the earth isn't 6k years old or that the earth isn't the center of the universe or that dragons don't exist? Or the sun doesn't stand still ? You know, all that crap your bible teaches.
        And I asserted before that mithras must have been real because there were mithrans? And shiva must be real because there are hindus.
        The bit about muslims was concerning your assertation that people died for christ, thus he is real. I said that muslims die for muhammand and allah, thus they are real, following yoru reason. Or did you forget that you implied that?

        We have prooved that earth isn't 6k years old. We have found who knows how many writings that we know are older than 6000 years old. The sun does not stand still, we are rotating around it as it is rotating around the galaxy. We know that dragon's don't exist, because if they did, we would've found atleast some fossils right now, besides, dragon's were "invented" not much more than a thousand years ago, yet we have no documents of anyone seeing them before that time or in these days.
        Once again, mikhurst, you are ignoring evidence completely and only relying on your faith, thinking it knows everything.

How about vishnu and Kuan-Yin?:....Just like you did with my question to you.I gave you four examplees of the Gospels account of Mary entering the tomb on Easter morning,two were similiar but slightly different to each other as Gods witneess came down from heaven in one ,in the other he was in the tomb.This you said was like witnessing an accident;10 people=10 different views.You never mentioned why in the third there were two witnesses or in the fourth Mary never entered the tomb.Without the reserection there is no Christianity:and if God wrote the Bible through man as you said then how can you explain this.

"Could you consider in your mind that it might not have warrented making mention of by the writer's of the other gospels?" Whether you accept that is up to you. Whether it is "written" that Mary entered the tomb is irrelevant to the fact that Jesus raised from the dead. It's not vague in any Gospel that Jesus resurrected.
        You continue to make these, or similar comments directly to me on these posts:

        Q:"if you choose to believe in a "universal" god, where are YOU going to "draw the line"? Is molech "God"? Is brahman "God"? Is siddhartha "God"? Is vishnu "God"? etc...

        I already answered them but again I will do so now.YOU posted an article that explained a God that allowed persons who did not know of the Lord into heaven.In the article there where references as to the validity of this.SO what books did they need or where was a line drawn?NONE.You also stated that the diff. accounts in the Gospels was like 10 witnesses=10 versions of an accident.What makes your version right and mine wrong?Nothing, you have displayed a point of view which I have encountered all my life when trying to find answers that I feel are important.

        re:"What makes your version right and mine wrong?" -> I guess my best answer would be: your looking at the circumstancial or background elements (ie: "where Mary stood" or "there was only 1 man in one gospel and 2 in another). The bottom line of that portion of the gospel is that JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD.
        Let me try to give another "bottom line" example:
        The "LZ Hindenburg" was a German zeppelin. It was destroyed by a fire while landing at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey, USA, on May 6, 1937. Thirty-six people died in the accident.
        Probably 100's of newspapers reported that "news account". If 6 wrote it was cloudy and 15 wrote it was rainy and 4 wrote it was clear and the rest never mentioned weather altogether, would it "change" that news account? Or would the news account that never mentioned weather be "wrong"?
        That's my point. The "news" is that Jesus rose from the dead.

        And my point is that you quote the bible as factual because it was written by God through man,so if God through man can write a description of an event that can be taken numerous ways then others views are as relevent as yours.You know your bible so well that you can find references quickly.I know what I have read but it takes me a long time to find them.One statement that I believe shows of another way is when the disciples complain of another teacher who wasn't one of them teaching;Jesus' answer was if he is not against then he is for us.no mention of his race, colour, or creed.As I said at the very beginning the message has no faults but how the bible is used does.

        The scripture you cite is Luke 9:48-49.
        "John said, Master, we saw a man driving out demons in Your name and we commanded him to stop it, for he does not follow along with us. But Jesus told him, Do not forbid such people; for whoever is not against you is for you."
        The disciples were looking at the "background element" - that the man was not a "direct follower in their circle". But the "bottom line" was that he was casting out demons "in Jesus' Name".
        That's the ONLY Name which demons will flee from.

Certainly was an interesting debate, both sides had slip ups and both made some points. It all comes down to a choice though. The universe did have a starting point and I believe that it was started by God. Two most historic events in the world, Christ death on the cross and His resurrection were all the signs we need from God. Time came from His hands and is in His hands. Hallelujah to the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

Very Good inchrist well said. I know God and Christ are real because I am with them everyday. All you can believe whatever you want, your free to do that, but as for me and my house we shall serve the Lord.
