Religion – Sitting in a cafe near the Champs Elysees, the 26-year-old French-born woman of Algerian descent looks like any other Parisian. But two months ago, she did something none of her friends have done. She had her hymen re-sewn, technically making her a virgin again.
Is it permissible for a woman to undergo hymen repair surgery after defloration?

This is something that is actually done in Middle Eastern countries by Muslim women as well - but over there, the women who have this done do so because they know that when they marry and it is discovered that they are not virgins, they will be at the least divorced IF NOT killed for the honour of the family.
Besides that though, this story really angered me because if these women truly want to demonstrate respect for their religion, family, traditions, etc. by having an intact hymen - then that hymen should be intact because they actually abstained from intercourse NOT by PRETENDING they did. What a sham - pure muslim virgins, my foot!
S*uty things?? Grow up. There is nothing wrong with sharing this experince with someone you love. It is attitudes just like YOURS that drive women to do this type of thing. Women have a right to live their lives, just as men do if they choose. Having SEX does NOT make you a bad person, there are so many more IMPORTANT considerations, but unfortunately someone's sex life is of intense interest - to those that have none?
Have you ever travelled to the Mid-East, Northern Africa or Asia? If not, then how in the hell do you know that women over there give it up before marriage? With the exception of "secular" countries like Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey Dubai and some other Asian Muslim countries, families guard their daughter virginity closely. That way they can command a premium dowry, which helps with the families finances.

"I'm glad I had it done," said the woman, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity. "I wanted to reconstruct part of my life, to reconstruct myself so that I could feel better about myself."
As honest as becoming "born again".
