What makes them any more of a cult than anyone else? From the article it would appear that they have scripture to back up their position.

      Yes I understand that.

How can you say that is wrong.

It is written in Isiah 46.9

"for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me"

There is no mention of Jesus or the Holy Spirit or the Trinity in this passage.

Why do you accord more weight to John 1:1-2 than you do to Isiah 46:9? They appear to be contradictory.

Can you direct me to a passage which references the trinity specifically. I cannot find one.

"In the beginning was the WORD, The Word was with God (1), The Word was God (2), and the same was in the beginning with God (3). All things were made by HIM (singular) and without HIM was anything made that was made. . . . The WORD became FLESH and we beheld HIS glory, the glory of the only begotten of the FATHER." (John chapter 1)

"I (Jesus) and the Father are ONE" (John 10:30)

"Anyone who has seen me has seen the FATHER" John 14:9

I cannot adequately explain the TRINITY, and even though the word "trinity" does not occur, the concept is definitly there. I also cannot explain neculear energy, but that doesn't stop me from believing it exists.

I understand. What is being discussed here is that other people do not believe in the trinity, but do believe in God. It seems to be a matter of interpretation of many passages in both the New and Old Testaments of the Bible. A literal reading of the Bible is intellectually impossible, because there are too many contradictions and variations that cannot be reconciled with each other absent faith and/or interpretation.

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and no one is entitled to claim exclusive possession of "the Truth" regarding religion.

Another Christian sect, no better and no worse than some of the others.

As usual, Christians denouncing members of other Christian sects over differences in doctrine. When will they ever learn that no two people totally agree on religion?

Blasphemy is not a crime. One person's blasphemy is often another person's Holy Writ.

I do not believe that this is a sect. To say that they know something that no one else knows is going over board though. This is one of those doctrines in the bible that can be interpeted in different ways. From my readings the trinity was first introduced through the interpetation of the Catholic church. Now the bible tells us we are to be saved through Jesus, the way to the father is through him and the Holy spirit is here to help us and that he not only knows the thoughts of man but of God also. Through this doctrine we have are salvation. It should be more important for us to be seeing other saved with the blood of Jesus made pure than fighting over doctrine that brings us niether in Heaven or Hell .

I have got to agree with you when you say "This is one of those doctrines in the bible than can be interpreted in different ways". There are many other points of divergence which demand and require interpretation. Within reason I expect that many of the interpretations are equally valid.

It follows from that any faith or denomination or sect claiming to be the only true belief or the only true way to the exclusion of all others is wrong.

My first Problem with this writer is that he has made a claim for a whole group who do not agree with him. The Church of Christ group is a loose confederation of churches who hold very few common doctrines. So when this person says he speaks for the Church of Christ he is lying. Which then makes everything else he says a lie. He speaks very much like the J. Witness since they too beleive this same thing.

Second Cult has two definitions. But the older defintion all churches are cults. It just like the word sect.

The Newer definition is that of a group who have centered around a leader who cuts them off of all relations with other people. Think Jim Jones.
