Jan. 15, 2007, 3:11 a.m.They most certainly have been denied rights. In many states it's still legal to not hire and fire people or refuse to rent to them because they are gay.

Jan. 21, 2007, 6:54 a.m.My sole question is this arena is why male homosexuals must use the word gay to describe themselves.
I know where the term Lesbian comes from, the Isle of Lesbos.
How did we end up utilizing indeed bastardizing a perfectly good adjective into a sexual conotation vs. using the proper term homosexual?

Jan. 15, 2007, 2:34 p.m.No what their really saying is they want special rights.>>>>
Nope, just the same rights that you enjoy to work where you want, live where you want, & the more than 1000 protections & perks you and your partner enjoy under the law. Or, to say it simply, "Equal Rights."

Jan. 16, 2007, 3:09 a.m.house... A person can hire.. rent.. and fire anyone they want. And guess what you don't have to be gay for that to happen..

Jan. 15, 2007, 9:11 a.m.Homophobia is a generalization that labels anyone who stands against the gay movement as a put down, implying a weakness in the individual due to their inability for open mindedness or lack of "love". The gay movement is probably strongly behind the anti-God, Christianity movement as well. It is insane to give rights to a degeneracy, an illness, a perversion other than the right to gain access to be rehabilitated. Many countries look down on, and despise us for this permitted policy. What really fires the faiths is the moral destruction and undermining of stability that this movement brings in its' wake. The greatest victim is the traditional family, our societal building block.

I agree, and bigots should be stripped of their rights post haste.

Jan. 15, 2007, 9:25 a.m.Thats quite true!
I think the name should be Homopity, as I pity those with such an affliction, not fear them!

Jan. 15, 2007, 12:17 p.m.It's funny how the tolerant aren't so tolerant when it comes to religious people being politically active; reading between the lines of this bigoted article, I'm encouraged that British Christians are coming out of the closet and fighting for their beliefs. May God bless 'em, I say!
Finally, discrimination is a fact of life. What kind of discrimination depends entirely on what kind of belief system the elite of a society uphold. A secular society will discriminate against the religious and a religious society will discriminate against the godless - which, in this instance, includes unrepentant homosexuals.

Jan. 15, 2007, 4:06 p.m.Homosexuals have a right to their life, and it should not be abridged by some people's bigotry, based on a primitive religion belief. Not all homosexuals are Godless.

Jan. 15, 2007, 12:41 p.m.LOL! LOL! LOL! This article is right on target, how absurd about gays can you get? Refusing them SOUP???? What happened to "Chrisitan" charity for all? Would your CHRIST refuse??? Bet not, but boy, you self-righteous, self-proclaimed chrisitans would! Follow the being you claim to, really follow him, and the entire world would be a better place. It is not your place or right to judge another, it is your god's privilege. In the meantime, what did you all do with that "love thy neighbor as theyself"??
-

CommonSense50
Jan. 15, 2007, 3:38 p.m.You don't make sense, what "curse"?? I do not critize and mock true Chrisitans who actually live their faith - it is ones like you who hold it up falsely and hide behide it without actually living it nor really understanding the words Christ spoke. Go re-read them, I doubt if you will find yourself reflected there.

Jan. 15, 2007, 12:49 p.m.You people are perfect examples of why many people are turning away from religion. You are close minded ignorant bigots who deserve no place in our society. If there were a god and a hell that god would send you there post haste.Lucky for you neither exist, mores the pity. I would enjoy the look of suprise on your self serving sanctimonious faces.

Jan. 15, 2007, 1 p.m.Newlander if saying homosexuality is wrong makes people turn from religion then sorry ,but That is the fact. Then they should go to a gay bar who thinks it is okay. Are you Gay Newenglander? Being open minded does not mean saying everything is ok what people do, does it? Then you would say murders are ok, animal sex, child porns, ect, To say we have no place in society makes you a biggot under your own turms, but that is ok then I expect nothing different from you. But I will pray for you.

CommonSense50
Jan. 15, 2007, 1:12 p.m.There is a big difference between what two consenting people do and that which is perpetrated on a victim - your comparison is absurd. By the way, if you are so interested in another's life, how much time do you volunteer each week at a shelter? Help the homeless? Help the victims of famiy crime, violent crime? They need it first, take care of the children victims first, that is sure as hell more important to address than who sleeps with whom! Get your priorities straight! (no pun intended).

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:41 p.m.You really do like to hear (or read in this case) your own words? You ramble without substance, judge without having the right to judge and spew words without understanding. You only deserve to be ignored (time for your meds now, be sure your attending psychicatrist give them on time)

Jan. 15, 2007, 1:30 p.m.There is no justification for the predjudices brought against the gay community by Christianity. Homosexuality is not a crime against humanity or god. Those of you who espouse against it know little or nothing about it other than you don't understand it and therefore hate it. To answer your question Albmore no I'm not gay nor am I bisexual but I know many gay people and to a person they did not choose to be gay and they are not suffering from schizophrenia either.

Jan. 15, 2007, 2:27 p.m.Common Sense50 usually I dont tell what I do because the Bible says to do it in secret but I think its ok to make an exception here . I support an orphanage in Georgia Russia and a family in Poland, I have worked with camps for the mentally ill and for the big brother program in the USA, when I was in Texas I also went and visited nursing homes. I was the US Airforce ATC HQ representative for the Combined Federal campain raising money for the poor and other instatutions. I am also presently helping a family were the man has a bad addiction to alcohol and in August I will going to poland to play music for two weeks and all money made each evening will be donated to a local orphage or poor family in what ever city we play in. Is that enough? I would like to save some for myself and God

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:45 p.m.Albmore: Then I absolutely support you in these efforts. These are true, CHRISTIAN activities and due respect. I may (and probably will) disagree with you but at least are living what you believe - which is more than what most Chrisitans I have met do. I am not a Chrisitan nor have any desire to ever be one, but your actions toward those that needs are the actions of someone who actually follows their faith. May your god bless and keep you.

Jan. 15, 2007, 2:55 p.m.Point 2 homosexuality is a crime against God.The bible tells us that he is displeased with it. That I know nothing about homosexuals is also worng, I have known many of themincluding one Uncle who died of aids at the end because of his life style. It is a sin! I dont hat homo. because they are homos. As far as prejudice I am against sin. But not the sinner. I feel an audulter is no better in his sin as a homosexuality. Can man go withoput sex? Yes! Then it is a choice that is made. A choice of the flesh. Newlander if you gonna say what you think its ok, but you shouldn't speak for God then I have a feeling you haven't read the bible to know what his word says. God Bless

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:28 p.m.A belief in God is just that, a belief, and public policy should not be made based on beliefs or discriminate against people. People should realize that their beliefs may be wrong. The Bible, and the Koran weere both written hundreds of years ago. Much of their contents reflect obsolete ancient social practices. We don't, for example, stone adulterers, any more.

Jan. 16, 2007, 6:26 a.m.Look being gay is wrong is just as bas as a man marrying his daughter of sister marrying her brother. As with being gay you have two consenting adults and nobody else is being hurt. Loads of people do it, so whats wrong with insest?
The very word leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and to all thoses who are gay and feel its ok. most normal people percive your "lifestyle" as disgusting as insest, For which no explanation is a justifcation. Seek help. for the sake of soceity's moral core!

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:33 p.m.So are my priorities straight enough for you now? Would you like to tell me some of the things that you do? Thats ok you must not, I dont want to steal your blessing , but it looks like your predgicies have judge me without knowing about me. and what does that make you then? No problem, I am not upset just want you to see we must be careful how we judge then by thoughs standards we will also be judged . God Bless

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:39 p.m.No we dont stone them but we still know its wrong. It tears families apart, loses trust, and places children in torn homes. We all know homosexuality is also wrong. But people want not to be seen as narrow minded. Open to the times. But the times are the end times. Oh and by the wy for Adultry you still become the death sentence in Saudi Arabia. I t happenend when I was there. But then again your right they didnt stone him they cut his head off.

Jan. 15, 2007, 4:03 p.m.Saudi Arabia is an excellent example of what happens when medieval religion becomes modern law. It produces a primitive, brutal society. A savage society, which is in no way moral, but morals gone wild, so savage that those morals, carried to excess, have become immoral.

Jan. 15, 2007, 3:43 p.m.I am not speaking for a non existant entity. Don't put words in my mouth. The Bible is an archaic manuscript and is mostly irrevelant in modern society. Whether or not an individual chooses to follow it is up to that person and that person alone you have no right to castigate anyone who decides not to follow your bronze age mysticism. GS you are a hurtful narrow bitter homophobe who is fearful of his own salvation. No amount of genuflection will save you from your fate.

Jan. 16, 2007, 1 p.m.CommonSenser50- thank you for your reply. I d have a question for you though, are you not a Christian because of your lack in belief that there is a God or because the examples of what you see as Christians turn you off to wanting to be one?

Jan. 16, 2007, 1:13 p.m.Newenglander you need to read what you wrote at the beginging of the page. You said it was not a crime against God. No one is putting words in your mouth, read what you wrote yourself.Bible proph. is being fullfilled today and much of it is even being proved from modern day Arch. iF YOU HAVING PROBLEMS REMEMBERING WHAT YOU WRITE MAYBE YOU SHOULD READ IT BEFORE YOU CONTINUE ON. Now you think you can decide GS fate. So you are doing exacxtly what you accuse him of doing. Did something happen when I was at work? Did God give his Judgement chair to Newenglander to decide someones fate? I dont believe so. And thats my right not to believe as you always say.And now that you judge GS by your standards from your prior message that makes you a biggot.Man is judged by the way judges others. Hey thats even biblical!
