The New Atheists will not let us off the hook simply because we are not doctrinaire believers. They condemn not just belief in God but respect for belief in God. They are Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett. A few months ago, I wanted to find out what it would mean to enlist in the war against faith.

As a non-religious moderate, I regard the New Atheists as useful idiots. Foot soldiers who are willing to take on the drudge work of confronting the hard line Christians, Muslims, and other theists that plague us non-relgious moderates by forcing us to repeat, over and over again,, why we are non-beleivers. The main business of moderates should be modifying society and making it more secular. In Islamic nations, we also need to build a foundation and protect them from Muslim hard liners. Atheists, Pantheists and Agnostics are all on the same team, from my point of view.

The sad part of this is I've never seen a soldier on the front lines in combat who was an athiest, or at least if they were at the beginning of the conflict, when it became serious enough they will cry out for a Supreme being to save them. So I'd say you'd better not volunteer to be a soldier. Many a man or woman when faced with death, would rather be safe than sorry, or finally realize that yes by golly, they just might be wrong, and not just dead wrong, but wrong for an eternity, considering the ramifications of refusing to believe. I'd rather have wasted 100 years of my life believing than 100 years of my life not believing, when in the final moment of your life, your destiny hangs in the balance....and I'm not even Jewish.

Penn & Teller commenting on Steven Hawking's book/work was quite priceless:the equivalent of something like "the poor sloppy work of a grade four student".They said more(the big one). I think these New Atheists are scared and don't want to be left alone with what is happening in the world. They may be silently screaming for help.Promoting atheism, anti-creationist evolution, etc. is past tense.I can't put it plainer than that.PAST TENSE.
