Buddhists and Christians have sometimes, in a search for common ground, pointed out some intriguing parallels between the "life stories" of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, and Siddartha Gautama, the Buddha.

There are some who believe that Jesus traveled to the east to learn from yogi's. Like the apearance of the 3 wise men from the east at his birth. Also being born under the star which would represent the opening of the third eye and gaining enlightenment.

        Is it true? Who knows...

Some people say all kinds of things about Jesus. Some people say Jesus and Khrisna are one and the same. Since we have little direct evidence even for the existence of a historical Jesus, it's open season on whatever anyone cares to speculate. One thing for sure, the historical evidence has been completely garbled up by all the blending and merging of religions that took place in late Antiqity, plus all the forgery of religious texts.

Yes, Jesus lived for a short time and everything was documented after his death. The same with Moses, his tales are larger than life. Taking on the Pharoah, parting the red sea, and freeing the Jewish tribe. Very dramatic and written to paper long after the actual events. Could they be an exaggeration of what actually happened? Hyped up to make it apear that these people had superhuman powers?

Isn't it a shame that we can't post stories without a disclaimer due to the sensitives. Jimespo you need to get a pair of you know what!

Both Christianity and Buddhism have a significant common thread. The commonality is that there are accessible transcendental (beyond the senses) inner realms (Christ quote: "The kingdom of Heaven is within") that are attained by redirecting our consciousness to go within rather than to the treadmill that is 'without'.

There is no end of positive things that Buddhism contirbuted to the Bible and maybe to Jesus thinking. The common thread shows that God is One, whom We have made many.
